Parish Council signs the Armed Forces Covenant

We are honoured to have signed the Armed Forces Covenant at the November meeting of the Full Parish Council.  Established in 2011, the Covenant is a promise to support current and former Armed Forces personnel, their families and the Forces Cadets through engagement, inclusion and above all respect.

“I am delighted to be here to represent His Majesty’s Armed Forces,” said Lt Col Glenn Ridgley, signing on behalf of the Ministry of Defence.  “This is valuable recognition from members of the community, and it is always important to have the support of decision-makers in authority.

“The Covenant recognises Forces personnel serving in unique circumstances, including serving overseas, sometimes returning with injuries, wounds and other difficulties.  I am very grateful to the Parish Council for signing the Covenant on behalf of the community.”
