Christmas Fair in Westcroft

At our first Christmas Fair at Westcroft Pavilion on Tuesday 3rd December, we will welcome carollers, local biker charity Ride2Give and a selection of independent stallholders.

You will be welcomed with free hot drinks and mince pies, and our younger visitors can go and see Father Christmas himself!

Orchard planting in Tattenhoe

Then on Saturday 7th December, we will breathe new life into one of Tattenhoe’s hidden treasures.  Some of you will know the community orchard between Hengistbury Lane and St Giles’ Church, and you may even have visited in late summer to take home some apples for delicious pies and crumbles.

Over time, some of the trees have naturally become less productive, and so we are planting 28 new trees to restore the orchard to its full potential.  Once established, the trees will offer decades of free, healthy fruit to local residents.

The 28 new trees are:

  • 6 conference pear
  • 6 Victoria plum
  • 6 Laxton’s superb apple
  • 6 Cox’s orange pippin apple
  • 2 Morello cherry
  • 2 King James mulberry
